Disheveled....

So I go out and meet a friend for coffee last night and I notice that I only painted my pinky and ring fingernails...It was not that bad, it was a new glitter color I picked up because I am a 12 yr old at heart...Sally Hansen Gem Crush Nail Color in "Big Money"...a clear with gold and soft rose glitter...swanky, me likey! But it leads me to this....

How old is too old for the following...

  1. Headbands
  2. Funky nail polish
  3. Bangs
  4. Ponytails
  5. Bikini's
  6. Low cut tops
  7. Uggs
  8. Mini skirts
  9. Platform heels
  10. Lip gloss
I struggle with some of these personally, but tend to do whatever the hell I want...some on this list I never do. So I wonder....what do you think?

John Glenn Cake (Chocolate Pound Cake)...or so it's known in our home...

I finally got my hands on the recipe for this cake again...My husband LOVES this cake and apparently so does John Glenn, yeah THE John Glenn...my husband typically eats this cake for his birthday.
A few things to keep in mind when making this cake...
1. A large TUBE PAN is a MUST
2. 2 cups of MIRACLE WHIP is also a MUST
3. It is a very dense, moist, chocolate pound cake, meant to be sliced THIN...ummm, its CAKE, wedge it up and work out later!

JOHN GLENN CAKE
(Chocolate Pound Cake)
  1. 4 Cups of All Purpose Flour
  2. 2 Cups of Sugar
  3. 4 Tsp. of Baking Soda
  4. 1 Tsp. of Salt
  5. 8 Tablespoons of Cocoa
MIX all of the above
  1. 2 Cups of cold water
  2. 2 Cups of MIRACLE WHIP
  3. 2 Tsp. of Vanilla
Once items 7,8 & 9 are mixed with the first 5 items grease the tube pan and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees
Top with Cool Whip as if you are icing the cake (I make homemade whipped cream flavored with liquor (SMILES) but I am thinking of making a vanilla or chocolate buttercream icing to mix it up, how daring of me haha )

Enjoy!!!

Sick and scrubbing toilets!?

I've been sick...bad virus cough kinda thing...so anyway the upstairs toilet needed to be scrubbed partly because it was getting funky and well because I can be kinda crazy when stuff gets dirty...I used up the end of some kinda of bleach mildew killer on my shower...then went to town on the toilet with the other stuff...mid scrub up under the rim I get dizzy...go into a cough attack...but I'd be damned if I let go of that toilet brush! I scrubbed it up washed my hands, and not 2 minutes later my son goes in there and tells me I should have waited to clean the toilet because he had to go........great.
Maybe later I will shower, do my hair, and play alive today...oh wait...it's 7:30PM......

Ok...about the curls...

I'm freshly cut and colored...well, since the last week of December, so it still counts...
anyway, my hair is still freaking out over what I have done to it...I chopped off about 5 inches wet (those with curls know how INSANE that is) and since my hair is natural it "grabbed" color in the past, so it was black...I got the color corrected to a RED...yikes...and added long side swept bangs (<---total insanity) but I craved a change and I got it for sure!
But now here's my dilemma...how the hell do I straighten it out so it looks like smooth glossy hair and not the hind quarters of a collie???
So I bought a flat iron...I had some hot rollers in here but they are MIA at the moment (darn kids) and I let it air dry with NOTHING in it...that's right, no product...I got it pretty close to smooth but no cigar...so back to the curls I will go tomorrow...And I've been sick, so I really have not tried all my make up colors to see what looks best with the new do' (total slacker this week)
So, what do you do to straighten out your hair for say an event or just because you want to for a day?
For anyone curly out there mine is like a Kerri Russel curl...remember her? Does she even act anymore? Remember the shit fit the universe had on her for cutting her hair???

Poking around...

I'm trying to set this blog up...several choices here...I have no clue really so I'm sure this will be a hot mess for a little bit...think I will take a break and paint my nails <3

Day one...

Ok, so here I am, a new blogger I guess...add it to the pile of crap I've started...I hope to be as ME as possible on here and pretty much lay down the swirling thoughts in my head...if I happen to offend you at any point, bite me...because this is just the stuff in my head at that point and I am not here to please you all the time...and I say that with LOVE, honestly...this should be a free zone, and I plan on being myself here. I have to pee now sooooo I'll be back later!
